About me
I am a mother of 2, a Registered Nurse and a Holistic Health Coach.
I have worked as a nurse in a critical care setting for over 15 years (crazy how time flies!). I love my role and value the science and research that goes into healthcare. I also believe that our bodies have knowledge and that if we tune in and listen, we can balance the needs of our bodies holistically and do the best we can to set ourselves up for a happy and healthy life.
I value both the medical system and a holistic approach to health. Medicines and medical intervention have saved countless lives and have their place and necessity, but I also believe in finding the root causes of our symptoms and “unhealthy” states and working on the causes holistically to find true wellness! We can have both!
My search for holistic wellness came after watching my sister struggle and thrive along her journey for 10+ years after a cancer diagnosis. Western medicine provided her with care that allowed her more time here on this earth; while holistic and ancient medicines provided her with knowledge, skills and treatments that transformed her mental, emotional, and physical health that allowed her to enjoy the time she had. Helping my sister research and learning from watching her, is where my journey for holistic wellness began.
After my sister’s passing and being locked down during COVID, I decided that it was time to take a shift away from the critical care setting and start a journey helping others achieve their holistic health goals. I found the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and took their Integrative Nutrition Health Coach Program. Now I get to work one-on-one with individuals, assisting them to establish their health and nutrition goals, overcome their barriers and work towards a more balanced existence: one that’s more in tune with their whole body and lifestyle. Our thoughts, our actions, what we eat, and how we feel are all important to holistic health. Health is a journey, not a destination!
As a mother of two young kids and a Nurse, I continually found myself putting my needs last among life’s priorities. Wherever we are in life, the past few years have been challenging for all of us. My goal for myself, along my own health journey, is to have a body, mind and spirit that are joyful, vital, and alert – and that means finding my balance, eating whole nutritious foods 90% of the time (I also like my pizza and wine), having regular practices for self-care, mindfulness, and moving my body. For me wellness is holistic, simple, and intentional.
There is more than one path to wellness – and my goal as a Holistic Health Coach, is to empower you with resources, information, and guidance that help to inspire the balance that works for you!
